The Australian Traditional Medicine Society was founded in 1984 and is Australia’s largest professional association of more than 10,000 qualified complementary medicine practitioners. In its 21 year history the ATMS has contributed extensively to the complementary medicine profession. ATMS has developed a co-Regulatory model entitled Government Monitored Self Regulation to ensure effective regulation of practitioners. Twenty one years has assured not only a great understanding of the profession but a commitment to and determination that the profession retains its identity.
